This course examines ecology, practical biological investigation, microscope skills, ions - solutions and earth science investigation.

This Science course covers a variety of topics and carries out practicals with direction: Biology (life processes, human and micro-organisms); Chemistry (properties of metals) and Physics (electricity and heat in everyday life).

This Science course covers a variety of topics within the following three subcategories: Biology (life processes, human and micro-organisms); Chemistry (properties of metals) and Physics (electricity and heat in everyday life).

This Science course covers a variety of topics within the following three subcategories: Biology (genetic variation); Chemistry (acids and bases, common chemical reactions) and Physics (mechanics, electricity).

This course is to enable students who intend to continue with Physics and Chemistry in Year 12 to develop a broader knowledge base and understanding of Level 1 Physics and Chemistry principles.

This course is to enable students who intend to continue with Biology and Chemistry in Year 12 to develop a broader knowledge base and understanding of Level 1 Biology and Chemistry principles.

Year 10 Science develops scientific knowledge, making it as practical as possible. Students will also develop their investigation, planning and data collection skills. This is done using different contexts throughout the course: Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Students will use a wide range of glassware, chemicals, electrical and other equipment.

Students begin by becoming familiar with the laboratory equipment. They will develop science skills which include investigating, planning, collecting data and analysing it. The course has a strong practical component, where possible. The topics covered during the year will help develop a broader knowledge and understanding of biology, chemistry, physics and astronomy.
