This is a predominantly practical course which is individualised for each student. 

The course may include:  Practical life skills such as cooking for flatting ; Work experience; Constructive use of leisure time; Interpersonal skills training; Working towards individual goals set at an IEP. 

A PATHWAY PLAN may be used to identify future goals and ensure the students learning direction is on the pathway to facilitating such.

Outside agencies such as CCS Disability Action, Enable, Family Planning Association and WINZ may be invited to contribute to the course as the need arises

This programme is based on the key competencies in each learning area of the New Zealand curriculum. Individual challenges are set within a range of choices. Planning how to achieve the goals and reviewing progress are an integral part of the learning.
